Cindy's inspiration

Having lived with my grandmother, Mary, for part of my childhood I have warm memories of home baking, drinking tea from a china tea cup and of beautiful table linens upon which she would present her delicious wares. I also remember cosy evenings with my great-grandmother, Amelia. Sitting by the fireside I would watch as she knitted a beautiful baby matinée set or crocheted a colourful bed topping: She also made her ‘Pearly Queen’ outfit sewing thousands of mother-of-pearl buttons to the garments. Both were very house proud and truly creative. The idea for House Proud Cindy originated from my friend Maria who would always joke about me being so house proud and only drinking tea from a china tea cup. We both have a creative passion and love of all things handmade and vintage.   I will be adding new and sourced items to compliment handmade products. Some of the handcrafted items are individual or limited editions. The vintage pieces are one-offs and when they're gone they're gone, so do remember to visit House Proud Cindy often.
